Berdychiv Top Reviews — city reviews & ratings portal

About the project

vidhuk.top is a city review portal for businesses and venues in Berdychiv. The site, «Berdychiv Top Reviews», is for people looking for opinions about local venues or wishing to share their own experience. Its content consists of a directory, ratings, reviews, comments and discussions.

What was done

The portal runs on WordPress with the custom vidhuk theme. The directory has categories and subcategories leading to individual venue pages. For example, the leisure and entertainment category includes a subcategory for hotels and country estates. Venue pages display breadcrumbs showing the sequence of directory sections.

Categories cover cars and motorcycles, money and finance, government institutions and organisations, companies and employers, shops and retail chains. There are also sections for medicine, car washes, education and preschool, hairdressers and barbershops, services and jobs. The homepage features articles reviewing venues. Lists have pagination, and a related venues block appears within a subcategory.

Features

A venue page shows its average rating, review and view counts, publication date and a list of reviews with author names. Ratings are also presented in five groups: Excellent, Good, Average, Poor and Terrible. Each group has a counter, displaying the rating distribution alongside the average score.

• Users can write a review and reply to the author of an existing review.
• An agreement marker lets users indicate that they agree with an author; reviews also support comments.
• Comments on reviews have their own page addresses.
• Registration, sign-in and password reminders appear in modal windows.

The supporting pages cover writing a review, review removal, feedback, information about the project and the user agreement. They accompany the directory with details about the portal, its terms of use and dedicated sections for enquiries and questions concerning reviews.

The portal combines a thematic directory of Berdychiv with discussions on venue pages. Visitors can browse categories, read ratings and reviews, and join a discussion by posting their own review, reply or comment.
